Congratulations to Accurate Home Care’s Senior Human Resources Generalist Megan Wuollet for earning professional certification from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Such a designation demonstrates one really knows what one’s doing, is updated on the latest trends and strategies, and is diligent about becoming a better human resources expert.

“I feel more secure in a lot of areas when it comes to human resources—anything from employment law to matters having to do with the organization and working with people,” Wuollet said. “A lot of it was reaffirming, too, just knowing what I’ve been doing all along is correct.”

It’s challenging to become a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). “It took about six months of hard studying; two notebooks front and back just studying,” she said. “I easily studied 200-plus hours, probably 14 or 15 hours a week. I would get up early to study and then do more after putting my daughter to bed. I had a lot of support from my husband, too.”

SHRM certification also comes with SHRM membership, through which one can network with thousands of other SHRM-certified professionals that can be contacted when questions or unique issues arise. “It’s nice knowing I have that membership and can rely on them if I have a question,” Wuollet said.

“One thing I like the most is what having this certification can do for Accurate,” she said. “It can make our HR department stronger, more efficient and more knowledgeable.”

Wuollet’s costs for studying and taking the SHRM certification test was fully reimbursed by Accurate. “It’s something I always wanted to accomplish, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity that Accurate gave me to do this,” she said.
