Client Spotlight: Maisy

MaisyMartindale Home Care“I feel really happy when I come home because my nurses are there!” Maisy said. She is a spunky 9 year old who loves her Accurate Home Care nurses so much she wants to be one when she grows up! She said if not a nurse, she’d like to be a teacher, and when asked about it she sat down and taught an entire lesson to an imaginary class!

She has been an Accurate client since 2008 when she started with 24-hour nursing care. She has since weaned off of her vent and has significantly reduced her nursing hours. She and her family are looking forward to completely graduating nursing services this December when she has her Gtube removed!

Although she has had several health issues and 34 surgeries in her short life, Maisy has an amazingly positive attitude. She showed a glimpse of how brave she is when she calmly explained that she doesn’t mind going in for surgery, and it doesn’t really scare her.

Client Spotlight: Emma

Emma Marcial Dad

In the spring of 2015, Emma started Extended Hour Nursing services with us. She was born premature, and was immediately placed on a vent and trach along with continuous oxygen. Initially doctors feared that she may not be able to ever leave the hospital, but after 7 months, Emma made enough progress to be allowed to transition into home care and was able to go home to be with her family! Since then, she has continued to make tremendous recovery, and no longer needs the vent or trach.

Employee Spotlight

Terry Meadows CatsTerry has been an RN since 2007, and works in our Central, Minnesota region. He has been with Accurate on and off for 4 years, interrupted in the middle by a 10-month stint as a medical simulation technician at HCMC. Before coming to Accurate, he had worked in long term care, transitional care, triage line, and in the cancer wing of a hospital.

When he left the hospital setting, Terry chose to work at Accurate because, “In the hospital, where I worked very busy shifts, usually, I could only complete the essentials. Home care allows me to also provide all the nice touches I would like to see done. And all the people at Accurate are genuinely nice and helpful. My favorite Accurate moment was when a client who had been bed bound for months due to an injury was able to get into his power wheelchair and "spin around" in the great outdoors.”

Star Home Award

House summerWe continually strive to promote teamwork and help foster a sense of company-connectedness for our field staff. Each month, all of our regions nominate one or two client homes that have an outstanding team of staff providing services there. Out of the nominations, one home is chosen, and all of the employees working there are sent recognition through the Accurate Rewards Program. The criteria for the Star Home Award include:

  • Exemplary teamwork shown between all employees in client's home
  • Employees communicating with each other to switch or cover shifts within that home
  • Great care conference with 100% attendance
  • Healthy understanding and practice of professional boundaries
  • No unexcused call-ins or missed shifts

We are very proud of our excellent field staff who show that they genuinely care for our clients. These frontline caregivers make an incredible impact on the lives of those they care for, and many deserve to be recognized for their hard work and dedication.

Freedom to be Comfortable

Zach skiingAt Accurate Home Care, we strive to provide our clients with the highest quality of care possible in the comfort of their own homes. Thanks to excellent caregivers who genuinely care for our clients, this is possible, and even common. By working together with employees, clients, and family members, we do everything possible to foster independence and the freedom to be oneself!

We recently featured Zach, an Accurate Home Care client who is able to be himself where he is most comfortable—at home with loved ones.

Zach is a 23 year old from northern Minnesota who has a knack for making people around him happy. He is a kind, caring, compassionate, and fun-loving person.

A Decade at Accurate

Heather GoblirschAccurate Home Care was started with the idea that people should come first. By making it a company where people are happy to work, it naturally becomes a place where clients can find genuine care and top quality service. Accurate prioritizes being a place where employees, regardless of title or position, can find a lasting, successful career.

Heather Goblirsch’s experience as an Accurate Home Care employee is a perfect example of the opportunity that can be found to advance one’s career here. Through hard work, drive, and loyalty to the company, Heather has experience in nearly all of the departments within the company. Her extensive knowledge of the various components that make up the company has given her an opportunity to continually grow professionally and build a successful career here.

In 2006, at the age of 16, Heather started working at Accurate Home Care as a PCA. The following year, she moved to an Office Support position. Shortly after moving into an office role, she began focusing more on medical records, and then moved into data entry of timecards. The company continued growing, and when the first offsite location was opened in St. Cloud, Heather transitioned to be the Patient Services Coordinator there. She was recognized as the Employee of the year in 2013, and in 2014 she became the North Regional Director, overseeing 3 offices in Minnesota. She recently transitioned into her current position as the Region Manager for Minnesota and North Dakota.
